Optum Care Network–AppleCare doctors are in office and clinic locations throughout Los Angeles County and Orange County. These areas include Downey, South Gate, Lynwood, Lakewood, Bellflower, Cerritos, Buena Park and Whittier; as well as Anaheim, La Palma, Santa Ana and other areas.

Is Optum Care Network a health plan?
Optum Care Network isn’t a health plan; we’re a physician group that works with your insurance company.
What types of health plans do Optum Care Network–AppleCare doctors accept?
Optum Care Network–AppleCare doctors have contracts with many different types of health plans to offer our patients the freedom to choose what’s best for them. We purposely don’t contract with just one plan, nor do we own a health plan. We believe by offering options to our members, we allow our members to select from a full spectrum of choices among Medicare and commercial health plans.
What do I do if I need to see a specialist?
If you feel your condition requires help from someone other than your primary care doctor, you need to schedule an appointment with your primary care doctor first, and he or she will refer you to the proper specialist.
How long will my authorization take?
Optum Care Network believes your primary care doctor knows what’s best for you; therefore, authorizations for most routine specialists are automatically approved. For those that require additional review, authorizations can take up to 10 business days.
How will I know when my authorization has been approved?
For authorizations that have been automatically approved, your primary care doctor will give you a copy before you leave their office, and you’ll be free to schedule your appointment immediately. For authorizations that require additional review, a copy will be mailed to your home, so be sure Optum Care Network always has your correct mailing information.
What do I do if I’m not satisfied with my care?
If you feel your care isn’t to your satisfaction, call our office at 1-877-862-1007, TTY 711, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and a customer service representative will assist you to make sure you get what’s best for you.
What advice would you give seniors who are confused about the changes in Medicare?
Give us a call and also encourage your friends, neighbors, caregivers and family members with questions to do so as well. Optum Care Network–AppleCare has invested in customer care coordinators who are knowledgeable in senior care and who can help you navigate the health care maze. There’s a lot of change occurring in Medicare, and we can make it easier for you to make good decisions about your health care.
