AppleCare Medical Group is not a health plan; we are a physician group that works with your insurance company.

AppleCare Medical Group doctors have contracts with many different types of health plans to offer our patients the freedom to choose what’s best for them. We purposely do not contract with just one plan, nor do we own a health plan. We believe by offering options to our members, we allow our members to select from a full spectrum of choices among Medicare and commercial health plans.

If you feel your condition requires help from someone other than your Primary Care Physician, you need to schedule an appointment with your primary care doctor first, and he or she will refer you to the proper specialist.

AppleCare believes your primary care doctor knows what is best for you; therefore, authorizations for most routine specialists are automatically approved. For those that require additional review, authorizations can take up to 10 business days.

For authorizations that have been automatically approved, your primary care doctor will give you a copy before you leave their office, and you will be free to schedule your appointment immediately. For authorizations that require additional review, a copy will be mailed to your home, so be sure AppleCare always has your correct mailing information.

If you feel your care is not to your satisfaction, call our office at 1-877-862-1007 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., TTY 711 and a Customer Service Representative will assist you to make sure you get what is best for you.

Call us and encourage your friends, neighbors, caregivers and family members with questions to do so as well. Over the past 15 years, AppleCare Medical Group has invested in Customer Care Coordinators who are knowledgeable in senior care and who can help you navigate the healthcare maze. There is a lot of change occurring in Medicare, and we can make it easier for you to make good decisions about your healthcare.
